The Balard Hexagon

Completion Date: 2013
Location: Ministry of Defense, Paris, France
Partners: ANMA Architectes Urbanistes

Description: The Hexagone Balard, home to the French Ministry of Defence in Paris, exemplifies modern architecture combined with energy efficiency. A key feature of the building is its Building-Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV) system, designed to blend seamlessly into the structure. Covering 5,000 m² of rooftop space, the solar installation plays a crucial role in powering the building’s heating and cooling systems. According to the ministry, this renewable energy source meets 80% of the demand for these functions.

The integration of BIPV at Hexagone Balard showcases how our solar technology can be incorporated into contemporary architecture without compromising aesthetics. This project highlights the potential of BIPV to enhance sustainable energy solutions in urban settings.
